Looking for an off-grid adventure? Discover the Faroe Islands during winter… From the charming tiny capital of Tórshavn explore the western shores of Vágar and some of the islands’ most iconic waterfalls before journeying across picturesque mountain roads leading to hillside villages, towering sea stacks and natural harbours.
Day 1 | Arrive in Tórshavn
Fly to the Faroe Islands. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Tórshavn and check in for a four night stay. Enjoy dinner in one of Tórshavn’s fabulous restaurants in the evening.
Day 2 | Explore Gásadalur & Vágar
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel today before meeting your guide who will be waiting to whisk you away to the western shores of Vágar. Stop in the small village of Bøur, where you'll have a great view of the peaky and uninhabited islet Tindhólmur and the stacks Drangarnir. Bøur is the last inhabited settlement before you reach Gásadalur where you will enjoy lunch and a panoramic view over the island of Mykines. Discover Múlafossur, the most famous waterfall in the Faroe Islands, before returning for dinner in the city. Ask about our favourite restaurants in the city.
Day 3 | Saksun, Tjørnuvík & Gjógv Storytelling
Today you’ll be collected for an adventure to the picturesque villages on Streymoy and Eysturoy. You’ll drive across the scenic mountain road to Saksun. The settlement is home to a beautiful natural bay where, at low tide, you are able to walk on the sand to the sea. View the small church grounds with the islands’ iconic grass roof. You’ll continue on to Tjørnuvík. Along the way stop at the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands, Fossá. Upon arrival at Tjørnuvík, perhaps wander along the beach and see the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch. Visit the village of Eiði where views of the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur await.
Day 4 | Explore Tórshavn
Meet your guide in Tórshavn to enjoy the charming capital where a variety of restaurants, cafes and handicraft shops await. Perhaps take a short drive to visit the village of Kirkjubøur which is the Faroe Islands’ historical and cultural centre.
