This week-long holiday is the ultimate outdoor activity holiday, staying at Eagle's Crag on the Alladale Wilderness Reserve in the Scottish Highlands. Embark upon cycling, hiking and driving pursuits to explore the rugged and beautiful terrain of outstanding natural surroundings where a rewilding project is restoring this unique area to its former glory.

Day 1 | Arrive at Alldale

Arrive at the Alladale Wilderness Reserve, your home for the next 7 nights. Take in the breathtakingly beautiful Highlands scenery as you drive down the windy road to Eagle's Crag which sits nestled at the base of the rugged mountain landscape. Unpack and get settled and enjoy your first evening meal. 

Day 2 | 4x4 Guided Safari

After breakfast, head out for your first day exploring the reserve on a 4x4 guided wildlife safari. Your ranger will tell you about Alladale's famous 'rewilding' project which involves reforestation and the reintroduction of native animal and plant species, including Scottish wild cats. Later, prepare your 3-course evening meal with the ingredients which are delivered to you daily.

Day 3 | Cycling Adventure

Explore the reserve on your bike today. Follow the track along Glen Mohr and experience the rough solitude of Alladale's wildest corners, or perhaps take the route along Glen Alldale for an uphill ride to spectacular views across the Scottish Highlands. On sunny days, a longer cycle to Dornoch is well worth the trip. Perhaps pack a picnic to enjoy on the beach before returning home.

Day 4 | Optional Activities

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before

Day 5 | Trout Fishing Excursion

With the choice of 10 different lochs, Alladale is a great place for enthusiastic fly-fishers, or just for those wanting to try a unique, new activity. A guided fishing experience includes an informative hike to the loch where you can take in the fresh air of the unspoilt Highland landscape. In the evening, relaxing by the fire and enjoy a delicious freshly-sourced meal.

Day 6 | Biking Experience

Head out on the mountain bikes again and explore the routes which snake around the reserve that you are yet to discover. Take in views of the beautiful, mirror-still lochs and rugged mountain peaks and look at for the resident wildlife, including Scottish wild cats, boar and deer stags. Enjoy free time the afternoon and perhaps pre-book a relaxing beauty and wellness treatment who can visit on request.

Day 7 | Explore the Highlands

Today is the day for venturing further afield to discover the hidden gems of the Scottish Highlands. Choose from a whole host of unique and wild destinations and activities from dolphin watching trips to castle visits and trying local and freshly-caught seafood.

Day 8 | Departure Day

Enjoy your final breakfast and a last stroll around the reserve before packing up to leave Alladale and head home.
