Loimu Resort is a cosy retreat set quietly on the edge of Lake Ylläsjärvi, where Lapland’s vast wilderness feels close enough to touch. Here, still waters mirror the northern lights across the shifting Arctic sky, and warm interiors offer calm and comfort.

Positioned low against the lakeshore, Loimu Resort feels intentionally understated—its dark timber exterior blending seamlessly into the surrounding forest, while inside, soft lighting and natural materials create a cocoon from the elements. With just a handful of thoughtfully designed rooms, the atmosphere is intimate, offering a sense of stillness that larger resorts rarely achieve.

Each of the seven rooms feature large windows which carefully frame views across Lake Ylläsjärvi. Styled with the distinctly Nordic minimalism of clean lines and muted tones, each one is designed for comfort and features an en-suite bathroom with shower.

A traditional Finnish sauna sits at the heart of the experience, offering a restorative ritual after days spent outdoors, while some stays may include access to icy lakeside dipping. The hotel also provides a welcoming communal space and dining area, where locally inspired dishes reflect the rhythms of the region.
