A stay here puts you on top of the world, literally and figuratively. Some 270km above the Arctic Circle in the far north of Lapland, this is one of the world’s northernmost luxury destinations. Travellers here find themselves surrounded by endless arctic vistas under a vast expanse of sky. This is pure, magical nature in the cleanest environment on earth.

Tell me more

Perched at the summit of the Kaunispää Mountain, looking over the resort village of Saariselkä in Finnish Lapland you'll find this contemporary architectural wonder. Every part of the hotel, from reception and restaurant to the 40 suites and cabins in their own space, offers breathtaking views of Arctic lakes, mountains and forests.

With floor to ceiling windows, Star Arctic's beautiful two floor suites give the best of both worlds – upstairs, the prospect of spotting the aurora to the north; downstairs, spectacular views of Saariselkä and the mountains of the Urho Kekkonen National Park, one of Finland’s biggest nature reserves, to the south.

Suites are available with or without your own personal sauna. If a cosier stay is more your style, the eight glass cabins have three sided, north facing glass roofs. After an energising day hiking, fishing, skiing or sledding, lie back on your king size bed, gaze at the sky and feel at one with nature.
