Trasti & Trine

Nestled just outside Alta, Trasti & Trine is much more than a cosy Arctic hideaway - it’s a living, breathing dog-sledding haven. A working husky ranch at its core, the property invites guests to meet and interact with the dogs, learning first-hand about life as a musher. Rustic elegance and modern comfort blend seamlessly in its intimate rooms, while the on-site kitchen showcases seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, from Arctic char to foraged berries, in hearty three- or five-course meals. Trails begin right from the doorstep, and huskies often rest nearby, adding energy and charm. As night falls, the northern lights sometimes dance overhead, completing the magical Arctic experience. 

At Trasti & Trine, each accommodation is a unique retreat, thoughtfully designed to blend comfort with the surrounding wilderness.

The Design Rooms are located in the forest, with enormous glass windows that make you feel as though you are literally sleeping in the nature. Radderud cabin provides a two-storey wooden house featuring two double bedrooms, a cosy living room, and a small kitchen area. Elva, Alaska, Kjøkkenhagen, and Gáisá rooms are one-bedroom units with a lofted living area, ideal for couples or small families.

For larger families and groups of friends, Hytta is a charming cabin with four bedrooms, a wood-fired stove, and a kitchen, located near the lively dog yard.

The small guesthouse rooms are located on the second floor of the main lodge building. There are two spacious double rooms, each with an additional sofa bed and en-suite bathroom, plus access to a shared living space with a balcony overlooking the yard.

All accommodations are equipped with modern amenities and offer a peaceful setting, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature.

The on-site restaurant serves locally inspired dishes crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients. Its warm and inviting atmosphere complements the calm of the surroundings, making every meal a highlight of the stay. Guests enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room, though lunch may also be a campfire meal served during activities. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the main lodge building, alongside a small cocktail bar, a wine cellar and the main kitchen.
