Hidden on Sweden’s tiny island of Hamneskar, this unique bright red lighthouse is a must for those seeking luxury combined with thrilling adventure.
Once the lighthouse master’s home, Pater Noster dates back to 1868, offering 19th-century charm and panoramic sea views. Nine double bedrooms, a spacious living room and kitchen are decorated with bright bespoke artwork and elegant wallpaper. The expansive windows allow morning sunlight to pour in. There is even an outdoor sleeping area for those wanting to spend a night beneath the stars as the waves wash up at the shore.
Getting to this remote destination is simpler than you may think. You’ll be picked up by boat from either Gothenburg or Marstrand and taken to your doorstep.
Guests are encouraged to explore the island however they choose. From scuba diving, kayaking and sailing, to meditation and a cooking class there truly is an activity for all to enjoy.
There is the option to have breakfasts and evening meals cooked for you, to allow you and your loved ones to enjoy the property to the fullest extent. And for those wanting to escape further into the surrounding blissful nature, head to one of the lighthouses outbuildings. The gunpowder cabin is a cosy nook for keen readers or sea bird watchers.
