Day 1 | Welcome to the Arctic

Transfer from Alta Airport to Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel - a sculpted wonderland of ice and snow. Tonight, you’ll sleep in a uniquely designed ice suite, wrapped in a thermal sleeping bag rated to -40°C, with cosy saunas and warm showers nearby. During the evening, indulge in a 3-course gourmet dinner at Lavvu Restaurant, where local flavours meet Arctic elegance.

Day 2 | Snowmobiles & Arctic Wilderness

Rev up your engines for a thrilling snowmobile safari across the vast Finnmarksvidda Plateau! Drive (and switch!) over 30 kms of stunning snowy terrain toward the remote Jotka Mountain Lodge, where a warm lunch awaits—and perhaps even a glimpse of the majestic Alta Canyon. During the evening, dine in style at Maku Restaurant before checking into the luxurious Arctic Wilderness Lodge, your base for the next two nights, featuring river views, private balconies, and sky-facing windows for aurora viewing.

Day 3 | Mush! An Epic Day of Dog Sledding

Today you become a musher. Join your husky team on an exhilarating sledding expedition through pristine forests and across the dramatic Finnmarksvidda Plateau—this time with a team of friendly four-legged companions! You'll harness your own dogs, steer the sled, and bond with your eager companions as you journey across the Arctic wilderness. For lunch, enjoy an open-air campfire feast and during the evening relax over another elegant 3-course experience in Maku Restaurant.

Day 4 | Snowshoe, Ice Fish & Chase the Lights

Your adventure continues at Glød Explorer Basecamp, where you’ll settle into an Aurora Canvas Dome - a cosy, glass-roofed hideaway perfect for watching the skies. Strap on snowshoes and hike to a secluded wilderness camp, then try your hand at ice fishing on a frozen lake. Light a fire inside a Sami lavvu and befriend your husky helper! During the evening, set out by 4x4 on a northern lights hunt, chasing clear skies across fjords and mountains. Professional guides help with photography and provide warm drinks, snacks, and unforgettable memories (plus a complimentary photo of you under the aurora!).

Day 5 | Fat-Biking Through Arctic Trails

Time to stretch your legs on a fat-bike tour through Alta’s snow-covered valleys and ancient trails. Ride past pine forests and frozen rivers, pausing at rustic fire-warmed shelters for snacks and fresh-brewed coffee. During the evening, savour your final 3-course Arctic dinner in the Glød lounge, where reindeer, moose, and King Crab take centre stage.

Day 6 | Onward to Tromsø: 'Capital' of the Arctic

A morning transfer brings you to Alta Airport and a short flight whisks you to Tromsø, a vibrant coastal city surrounded by mountains and sea. Check into the sleek Clarion Hotel The Edge, with its harbour views and rooftop sky bar.

Day 7 | Cable Car Views & A Taste Explosion

Board Fjellheisen cable car for panoramic views from Mount Storsteinen - ideal for photos and hot chocolate and waffles at the summit café. During the evening, enjoy a 9-course Arctic Taste Experience at Emma’s Drømmekjokken, featuring 12 beautifully plated servings with local ingredients.

  • One night at Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel in Alta based on a themed igloo suite for two people featuring a bed frame made of ice with a real mattress, reindeer hides and a wooden door. Guests sleep in an Arctic extreme sleeping bag (designed for seriously low temperatures!). Includes morning sauna. Guests luggage is stored in a luggage storage room and each guest has a small personal locker for their valuables. Includes 3-course dinner and buffet breakfast in Lavvu Restaurant.
  • Two nights at Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge in Alta based on a River Suite for two people with sky-view window, ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub, and a private balcony. Includes daily buffet breakfast and 3-course fine-dining dinner in Maku Restaurant.
  • Two nights at Glød Aurora Domes based on an Aurora Canvas Dome for two people with transparent northern wall and roof. The domes are equipped with a kings size bed, a table and two chairs, ensuite toilet and washbasin (sauna and showers in service building close by), drying rack, stove fire, underfloor heating and the bed has an electric blanket (all generated by 100% renewable hydro electrical power deliver by the Alta River). Includes daily breakfast and 3-course set menu local dinner served in Glød lounge.
  • Two nights at Clarion Hotel The Edge in Tromsø based on a superior double room for two people with ensuite shower and WC including daily buffet breakfast.

ACTIVITIES

  • Snowmobile safari on the Finnmarksvidda based on two people sharing (driver and passenger) with the opportunity to swap around midway. NB! You must have a valid full driving licence to drive a snowmobile in Norway. Includes local guide and lunch. Duration 4½ hours.
  • Dog-sledding safari based on two people sharing a dog sled (musher and passenger) with the opportunity to swap around midway. Includes local guide and lunch. Duration 5 - 7 hours.
  • Snowshoeing and ice-fishing experience. Includes local guide, all instruction and equipment and lunch. Duration 4½ hours.
  • Northern lights hunting by 4X4 mini-bus. Includes local guide, photos of the tour, plus a complimentary photo of yourself under the northern lights (not guaranteed), snacks and hot chocolate. Duration 4½ - 6 hours.
  • Fatbiking safari along a variety of wilderness trails. Includes local guide, all equipment and campfire snack and hot drink. Duration 3 hours (cycling 60-90 minutes).
  • Return ticket for Fjellheisen cable car and shuttle bus in Tromsø. Regular departures throughout the day. The cable car takes 4 minutes one-way.
