Holiday Idea

Gateway to the Arctic, Norway’s northernmost hub of Tromsø is a lively city surrounded by mountains, fjords and islands. Fishermen’s tales have shaped popular culture in this country which sings of the sea, and every island and islet has a story to tell. Spend days enjoying some of the key attractions in the city, before travelling east to the Lyngen peninsula to relax and take part in exhilarating winter activities.

Day 1 | Arrive in Arctic Norway

Arrive in Tromsø and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Settle in and admire the beautiful surroundings of this modern hotel where the water provides a stunning reflection of its innovative architecture. Why not let us book you a table at one of Tromsø's wonderful restaurants for dinner?

Day 2 | Explore Tromsø & Travel to Lyngen

Explore Tromsø's busy centre of shops, restaurants and cafes today. Why not enjoy coffee and cake in one of the city's numerous cosy cafes and observe local life. Well worth a visit is Polaria, Tromsø’s wild and wonderful museum focused on all things Arctic. Walk or take the short bus ride to Fjellheisen, the cable car which runs from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to Storsteinen (421m above sea level). Later transfer to Lyngen Expereicne Lodge and check in for a three-night stay.

Day 3 | Dog-Sledding & Sauna Relaxing

After breakfast, embark on an exploration through diverse terrains in a majestic landscape, a journey that promises both adventure and challenges. Meet your team of enthusiastic Alaskan huskies and, sharing the sled with a partner, one takes the reins and the other sits in the sled. Prepare for a journey where camaraderie with animals, breathtaking landscapes, and stunning views converge in the heart of the Lyngen Alps. A truly unforgettable experience! NB! In November there will be a snowshoeing experience instead of dog-sledding.

Day 4 | Whale Safari

After breakfast, get ready for an exhilarating adventure as you hop onboard the high-speed Targa 46 boat in the vibrant Nord-Lenangen harbour. Feel the thrill as you get up close and personal with these magnificent giants, creating picture-perfect moments and unforgettable experiences. Amidst the search, you will sail through breathtaking natural landscapes, making every moment an exciting part of the expedition. Even if the whales play hard to find, the trip guarantees a uniquely thrilling experience. NB. In February there will be a snowmobile safari instead of whale watching.
