Day 1 | Arrive in Norway

Collect your hire car at the airport. The scenic drive to Odda takes you past fjordside villages, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic mountain landscapes. Follow the curves of Hardangerfjord, one of Norway’s most picturesque fjords, with stops to admire the stunning Steinsdalsfossen waterfall and the charming town of Norheimsund. As you approach Odda, towering peaks and glacier-fed lakes create a postcard-perfect welcome for your first night's stay.

Day 2 | Sunset Hike to Trolltunga

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading out on an exciting adventure. The 28-kilometre roundtrip hike to Trolltunga is spread over two days, allowing you to fully enjoy the stunning mountain scenery, glacial valleys, and panoramic fjord views at a comfortable pace. Your friendly guide will share fascinating local stories and keep the group motivated along the way. As the sun sets, relax with a well-earned dinner before settling into your cosy dome tent to drift off under the stars.

Day 3 | Descend Trolltunga at Sunrise

Wake up to the breathtaking sight of sunrise over Trolltunga, as golden light spills over the dramatic cliffs and fjords below. Enjoy a warm drink and a hearty breakfast, soaking in the peaceful morning atmosphere before setting off on your return hike. The journey back offers a fresh perspective on the stunning landscapes, with plenty of time to take in the towering peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and rolling valleys. After an unforgettable adventure, arrive back at the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 4 | Scenic Journey to Bergen

The drive to Bergen follows the shores of Hardangerfjord, passing charming villages, lush orchards, and mirror-like waters reflecting towering peaks. A possible side trip to Vøringfoss Falls, one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls, offers a breathtaking sight as water plunges 182 metres into the canyon below. Along the way, why not stop at a local cider house for a taste of Hardanger’s famous cider, crafted from sun-kissed apples?

Day 5 | Discover Bergen

Spend a full day exploring Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, packed with cool street art, lively cafés, and charming cobbled streets. Stroll through colourful Bryggen wharf, dive into local history, or check out some fascinating museums. For the best views, take the cable car up Mount Ulriken or take the funicular to Mount Fløyen, where you’ll find amazing panoramas and hiking trails. After a day of exploring, relax with a delicious meal at one of Bergen’s top foodie spots - or grab some fresh seafood at the famous Fish Market.

Day 6 | Departure Day

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving to Bergen Airport to drop your hire car off before your flight home.

  • Car hire for the duration based on a mid-size vehicle including unlimited mileage, theft protection, CDW (excess applies) and tax. One driver (extra drivers at a supplement)
  • Two nights at the Trolltunga Hotel in Odda based on a double/twin room including buffet breakfast
  • Information briefing and get-together at Trolltunga Hotel at 21:00 the day before the hike to meet with your guide
  • Two packed lunches for the two days of hiking to and from Basecamp Trolltunga
  • Two-day Trolltunga Hike including local guide and storyteller, hiking poles and photos taken with the 'needle' view on Trolltunga
  • One night at Basecamp Trolltunga based on a bed in a communal dome tent - maximum 6 people - including sleeping bag and liner, dinner and breakfast. A limited number of traditional, 3-man expedition tents are available at Trolltunga Basecamp for those who prefer to sleep separately. It is also possible to have the large dome tent for a private overnight stay with family or friends
  • Two nights at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz in Bergen based on a superior double/twin room including daily buffet breakfast
