Itinerary

Alas Sea Pool sunset in Helsinki
The Baltic Herring Market is held by the sea

Day 1 | Arrive in Helsinki

Fly to Helsinki, transfer to the fabulous Hotel Lilla Roberts in the city. Head out and explore the capital. You’ll find Allas Sea Pool, a marine spa and an oasis of urban culture right in the heart of the city. It offers new ways of enjoying the Baltic Sea, just a stone's throw away from the Market Square and other main attractions. Later, dine at the wonderful Krog Roba Restaurant (the city’s former police station!) in the evening.

The Tuomiokirkko cathedral in the night

Day 2 | Helsinki Sightseeing

Discover the sights of Helsinki today. Stopping to admire the beautiful white Tuomiokirkko cathedral is an absolute must, it’s also possible to go inside for a 5 Euro fee. Perhaps visit the UNESCO-listed Suomenlinna to explore the museums, former bunkers and fortress walls. Or opt to explore Helsinki’s world-famous Design District. Interested in museums? Browsing The Design Museum, National Museum of Finland and Museum of Finnish Architecture could easily fill a day. There are dozens of quirky cafes and restaurants to discover too.

The löyly design sauna

Day 3 | Helsinki Sightseeing & Sauna Culture

After breakfast, embark on a full day in Helsinki exploring the saunas independently. Try the local Sauna Arla in Hermanni, the cultural Kulttuurisauna in Merihaka or the old-fashioned Kaurila sauna in Meilahti. Be sure to visit Löyly. Named after the Finnish word for sauna steam, this intriguing wooden structure sculpted to resemble a Scandi-chic mountain range opened in the summer of 2016. Lying surprisingly near the city surrounded by the Baltic Sea, relax in three different smoke saunas, bathe in warm hot tubs and swim in the sea.

The log cabin at Hotel Wilderness Inari

Day 4 | Arrive in Lapland

After breakfast, transfer to Helsinki airport for your departure flight to Finnish Lapland. On arrival, you will be collected from the airport and driven the 30 minute journey to Inari Wilderness Resort. On arrival check into a comfortable log cabin for a three night stay. Enjoy a stroll near beautiful Lake Inari before a welcome dinner in the evening.

The northern lights in autumn in Finland

Day 5 | Sami Culture & Aurora Camp

Today, visit the Siida Museum. This exhibition is full of information about Sámi culture and history as well as life and nature up in the north. After Siida visit we will have a nice sightseeing tour around Inari village and Jäniskoski rapids at River Juutua. The parish village of Inari is the centre for Finland’s Sámi culture. In the evening, it’s time to search for the northern lights. At the autumn aurora camp, here you will have the best chance of seeing the lights and can observe the evening sky. Snacks and warm drinks will be prepared by the open fire.

Hiking in Finland

Day 6 | Hiking & Relaxing

Enjoy a guided hike in the beautiful surroundings. During autumn nature is full of beautiful colours and curious animals. Your guide will tell you interesting facts about Finnish nature. Be sure to keep a lookout for wild reindeer. Lunch will be prepared by an open fire during the trip.
