Snowhotel to Varanger Fjord Adventure

Welcome to the arctic wilderness. Your weekend retreat begins as you fly to Kirkenes and arrive at the magnificent Snowhotel. After a leisurely breakfast, why not wander the magical snowhotel grounds? Pop on your snow shoes, or perhaps pay a visit to the husky dog yard. Visit the snowhotel’s cosy café in the style of a traditional Sami Lavvu before being whisked away on a snowmobile adventure like no other. Let Hans and the team at Barents Safari show you the sights of Kirkenes as you glide across the frozen fjord between snowcovered mountains. Tonight, you’ll stay in one of 20 cosy Gamme Cabins nestled perfectly into the snow at the hotel.

Take a private transfer to the Varanger Fjord. Arrive at Varanger Lodge and meet local skipper Edgar, who will show you to your lodge sat on the shoreline of the fjord. Your private chef will prepare a three-course meal featuring a taste of the local area. You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the aurora as the limited light pollution at Varanger Fjord enhances the mesmerising natural phenomenon.

Today, you’ll hop aboard a snowmobile and head deep into the nearby mountains for a night at Edgar’s wooden wilderness cabin. Tucked between the tree’s, spend the day relaxing at the cabin, searching for wildlife and immersing yourself in Northern Norway’s nature before winding down beside the cosy fireplace.

After another delicious skippers breakfast, bid farewell to the oasis in the forest and return to your lodge. Perhaps take a dip in the icy sea and head into the lodge's adjoining sauna before preparing for the King Crab Safari. Hop aboard Edgar’s handmade boat and glide along the arctic waters for a once in a lifetime fishing trip. When you return, be rewarded with your catch as Edgar serves you a fresh crab dinner and learn more about the importance of fishing in this region.

Today you'll take a private transfer back to Kirkenes airport for your return flights home.
