Basecamp Hotel in Longyearbyen

Day 1 | Arrive at in Longyearbyen

Fly to Longyearbyen. On arrival take the shuttle bus and transfer to Basecamp Explorer, a hotel in central Longyearbyen. Perhaps take a stroll around the town before dining in the evening.

Day 2 | Hiking

Join an experienced guide on a day hiking trip with lunch and warm drinks included. Head across the Lars Glacier for a memorable day and enjoy breathtaking views of stunning scenery.

Day 3 | E-Bike tour

Enjoy a leisurely morning and in the afternoon you’ll head out on two wheels for a e-bike tour to explore an incredible diversity of environments. The 25-kilometre bicycle trail will be led by an experienced guide. There will be many opportunities to see signs of and hear about the history of Longyearbyen and the local flora and fauna. There will also be opportunities to take great pictures.

Summer near Isfjord Radio in Svalbard

Day 4 | Isfjord Radio

Enjoy breakfast and perhaps take a stroll around the town in the morning.  Head out onto Isfjorden by a small boat with a steady course westward. Your hosts will warmly welcome you upon arrival at Isfjord Radio. Finish your day in the warm sauna at the sea cliff and enjoy a view that makes you forget about time and place. In the evening, a five-course dinner is served in the dining room.

Day 5 | RIB Boat Safari

After a good night’s sleep, you will wake up to a view you will remember forever. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea with a panoramic view of Kape Linné bird sanctuary. After breakfast join a RIB boat safari to Alkehornet birdcliffs and the incredible Esmark glacier.  Arrive back at Isfjord Radio around 4pm to your hosts who have everything planned for a memorable evening. At 8pm, five 5-course dinner is served in the dining room, always with a touch of the Arctic.

Day 6 | Isfjord Radio Hike

After breakfast, join your Isfjord Radio guide on one of our favourite tracks along the old radio poles of the station given three optional route and activity alternatives. The hike will be around 10-16 km long depending on the route taken. Return to Longyearbyen by boat and check back in to the Basecamp Explorer Hotel for an over night stay.

Day 7 | Departure Day

After breakfast, transfer back to Longyearbyen airport for your return travel plans.
