Discover Norway’s wonderful Arctic capital and the stunning serenity of Norway's Lyngen Peninsula. This two-centre boutique break blends thrilling activities with ultimate relaxation in breathtaking surroundings. Explore the city from above, follow wilderness tracks by snowmobile, hunt for the elusive northern lights, and try your hand at driving a team of huskies across pristine frozen terrain.
Day 1 | Arrive in Tromsø
Arrive in northern Norway's Arctic capital, Tromsø, the historical starting point for polar expeditions for hundreds of years. Surrounded by epic fjords and craggy peaks that remain snow capped for much of the year, Tromsø sits on the eastern edge of Tromsøya, and is linked to the mainland by a gracefully arched bridge. Perhaps hop aboard the city's cable car, offering expansive views of the bustling metropolis. Take some time to wander around the city in the evening. Why not opt to dine at Mathallen, one of the best restaurants in the city. The kitchen here is run by sought-after chef, Gunnar Jensen who works with seasonal arctic ingredients.
Day 2 | The Lyngen Alps
Today transfer to the beautiful Lyngen Alps. Arrive at Lyngen Experience Lodge. Life is all about serene fjord-side living on the northern Lyngen peninsula. During the evening, travel to a remote base camp. Learn about living in the Arctic Circle inside a traditional Sami tent and warming fire. Be sure to keep an eye out for the northern lights shimmering across the dark night sky.
Day 3 | Husky Safari
Enjoy breakfast this morning before an exhilarating adventure into the Arctic wilderness. Born to run, meet your very own team of Alaskan huskies. Zip across varied terrain in the Lyngen Alps. With a majestic landscape surrounding you, this is the ultimate Arctic adventure.
Day 4 | Snowmobile Safari
Spend the morning at leisure before heading out into the frozen wilderness on a snowmobile safari. Learn how to operate the snowmobile before following your guide and zipping off into the snow. Return in the afternoon to unwind and relax in the sauna and outdoor hot tub, taking in the magnificent views of the Usfjord.
